Goodbye for now, beardos.

Wow, what a whirlwind! I meant to put up a little farewell post earlier this month, but a few stragglers needed last minute beards, and I wanted to make sure everyone got set up with their dream beards before closing the shop.

It has been such a wonderful few years here at I Made You A Beard, and I know that my blog readers have played a big part in that. You guys have been amazing - emailing me awesome beard finds, buying my beardy wares, and spreading the gospel of well-made fake beards. I cannot thank you enough for making this possible. Part of me really wants to continue on forever as a beardmaker, but I feel the time is right to move on to some other projects.

What are these other projects? Well, for one, I want to get back to my printmaking roots, and work on more (non-beard related) fine art projects. You can take a look at my other artwork in my second Etsy shop, in case you're curious. Another big reason that I am ending the beard project is that I am hoping to open a small workshop space here in LA; half printmaking studio, and half art and handmade goods shop. It's a daunting task (to me at least!), but I am really hoping to have all the details worked out by the fall, and I just can't work on this project while also making beards full time. I'll post more info about the shop once plans are more concrete, I'd love to share my other love (printmaking) with you all.

Here's the good news: there are still places to get your beardy fix. I'll be posting my favorite beardy finds over on Pinterest. You can check out my beardy pinboard, which is already filled with some of my favorite facial-hair-related items that I've featured here in the past. Plus, there's always one of my favorite beard blogs, Beard Revue!

So keep in touch, readers. If you need an emergency beard, you can still email me, and I'll do my best to accommodate. While I Made You A Beard has come to a close, the beard lives on. Keep it classy, beardos!

Your new plans sound so exciting! I can't wait to hear about your new store and I'll definitely be sure to visit when I'm in the L.A. And ya for returning to your roots. It always feels good to go back to your true passion.

Oh man. My sister bought me one of your beards for Christmas 09 and it was the best present ever. I took it to work yesterday because my coworker's kid needed a beard to play Jesus in a school play. I just got a text that he is demanding one of his own. That's just weird timing.

Anyway, thanks! I love my beard sooo much! Good luck to you!
