Check out this beardy seafaring lad! I'm sure he'd be an excellent addition to your crew. Kapitein Winokio, as drawn by Eva Mundorff.

In other news, I changed my banner in my Etsy shop. I'm trying to think of ways of making things look more unified between the blog and the shop, short of making an actual logo... branding seems difficult and sort of unnecessary for this project. I'm happy to just have people find me on accident, I guess.

While not all moustaches are classy, this one by jarnmang is! Keep it classy!

i'm sorry, but these little dudes are WAY too cute. i'd love to see a children's book with these characters. drawn by TOSYA.

I've been seeing a lot of excellent Abe Lincoln related prints lately. Check out this awesome one from Jill K. in L.A.!

Still loving the green beards. The resemblance to Oscar the grouch is really coming through on this one, though. Could come in handy :)

Woodsy beards by Adam Hancher!

In case you Portland beardos have nothing to do tonight:

From the Portland Mercury website: "Mustaches for Kids may sound a little creepy, but it's actually a group who grow mustaches and raise money for charity in the process. This year's "growing season" benefits local schools, and concludes with a mustache contest and party at Holocene, where this year's winner will take home the Sweetest 'Stache Award. (Holocene, 1001 SE Morrison, 8 pm, $5)

Just finished this custom beard... teal and glow in the dark yarn combo!

This is seriously the weirdest thing I've ever seen. Watch for the creepy beard face stroking at the end.

Love these drawings by fellow Portland artist Julianna Swaney.

Lovely bearded lady drawn by Anke Weckmann, aka linotte.

Still not sure how I feel about this one. It's just so... green. So much green near my face makes me feel a little ill. But hey, this is PERFECT for St. Patrick's Day (and would actually be pretty fun for Mardi Gras, too).

Always With Honor made this lovely illustration. Loving the peg leg and yellow boot combo, very practical.

Is it just me, or does this foxy fellow have a nice white beard?? If so, he may want to trim it up a bit... it's getting a bit neck-beardy, which never goes over well with the ladies. Made by local faves Berkley Illustration, pick up this print in their etsy shop!

Wish I had found this in time for President's Day. One of the best bearded presidents building a house with his namesake logs. I wonder why they called them Lincoln Logs... Go grab a print for yourself at LovelyMPLS's etsy shop!

I'm calling it my older, wiser beard. Available in my shop!

Excellent illustrator Bart Aalbers!

I'm SO ready for spring. It has been really sunny the last couple days, so I decided to go ahead and share one of the lovely pastel beards I've been working on.

I'm sure all you LOST fans are still buzzing about last night's episode, so check out this awesome beardy connection! The lovely duo behind Geronimo Jack's Beard bought a couple beards this month, and are rocking them on their blog. The podcasts are put together by the ever so cryptic "sidekick22 and that other guy," but I have a hunch that the "other guy" happens to be Jorge Garcia, who plays Hugo "Hurley" Reyes (aka, my boyfriend's favorite character).

Either way, they're looking pretty sneaky in their new beards, don't you think?

Are you a satisfied customer of I Made You A Beard? Feel free to post your newly beardy mug shots in my new flickr group flickr.com/groups/happybeardos/

Misprint’s Beard & Moustache Competition is only a week away! Friday February 19, 2010 at the Mohawk, 912 Red River, Austin, Texas... I want to enter to win the "Gnarliest Beard" category, but there is also a special category for the ladies!

Nothing better than beards and sweaters. Lovely drawing by elbluo.

Also, have you seen the new poster that Mike Buchino of Beard Revue made? It's the perfect Portland poster: Beards, hoodies, and rain. What else is there? Buy it here.

Hey Portland beardos, if you're bored this evening, head on over to Small Victories, which is having it's opening party tonight! Everyone likes parties, right? Plus, they are carrying some of my beards, so if you have been dying for a chance to try on a beard in person, they've got the hookup. Really excited to see such an awesome new shop opening, does this mean the economy has finally taken a chill pill?

I've been hiding this beard for a while... I couldn't seem to get a good picture of it (bet you're tired of hearing that old line!) In case you can't tell, this beard glows in the dark! WHOA. Fun for mutants and beardos of all ages.

Should be listed in my Etsy shop soon, so keep an eye out!

"Ladies, beards are all the rage this season."

Another surprising I Made You A Beard sighting, over on Jimmy Fallon's blog (which I don't think he actually writes... weird.) Thanks to Pang for finding this one :)

I'd say this little guy is a contender for smallest (and cutest) beard of all time. Made by Anna of Mochimochi Land.

Hey Portlanders, did you catch the cover of this week's Mercury? Beardtastic!

Marc Johns never fails to come up with excellent beardy art.

Woke up to find that my bearded mug is gracing the NBC New York homepage... very strange. It's attached to an article about Build-a-Beard, which is also run by a woman! Hooray for women infiltrating this manly bearded corner of the world :)

Build-a Beard is hosting a Beard Ball, where bearded fellows can congregate to raise money for Right Rides, a non-profit that "gives free late-night rides to women who have inadvertently found themselves in less-than-desirable circumstances." Pretty cool. I guess I'm included in the article to give people a place to buy facial hair, in case they can't grow any in time for the Beard Ball. I'm happy to help, if any of you NY beardos need a hand.

Did you see New York Magazine's primer on "The Urban Woodsman"? Pretty funny stuff, especially the article "It All Starts with the Beard," which featured these lovely beard illustrations by Justin Bryan Nelson (who was also featured in Hair'em Scare'em, that book I showed you a few weeks ago!).

Look at these urban woodsmen! Watch out guys, wouldn't want to get those $289 flannel jackets dirty (i kid, i kid). Photo taken by Hannah Whitaker.

I'm featured in an online only magazine called GAARN, a magazine for sewing culture out of Germany. Sprechen Sie deutsch? You'll be able to read the many articles! Even if you don't speak German, you should browse through it if you're into sewing. Lots of cool things featured in there.
