As promised, here are photos of the other gnome-style beards. I love these three colors together; reminds me of Neapolitan ice cream. Yum!

Just so you know, I'm selling these beards on Etsy for $18 each, much less than my other beards. So feel free to treat yourself to more than one color!

I stumbled on the Mustache Sisters earlier this week, and I have been dying to share their project with all of you. Nina Frenkel and Aya Kakeda entered their costume into the mustache contest at the Hungarian Cultural Center in New York City, I hope they won first prize!

You can read more about the delightful Mustache Sisters at their website. Such a clever project, don't you think?

I've been working on a bunch of gnome-like beards to add to my shop! I'll be posting more photos of the different color choices soon. I'm loving these pointy gnome beards so far, they really lend themselves to all sorts of halloween costume possibilities. Plus, I'm using an elastic strap, rather than those ribbon ties, which makes it easier to wear for an entire day of beardy fun.

Found this lovely illustration on Etsy today, made by Ryan Fowler of nativevermont! I love this guy's expression; so crabby.

Found this Lincoln/Bowie mash-up in Frank Chimero's flickr this morning. Love it.

Found this lovely portrait at the thrift store this week. Felt a little sad adding a beard to such a pretty lady, but it had to be done. Adding it to my Etsy shop this afternoon.

I have been wanting to tell you all about this for the longest time. I was contacted about this last year, and have held my tongue for almost nine months (no, it's not a beardy baby). So here's the big news: my beards are going to be in a museum!

I know, I know. Who would have thought, right? The exhibit that the beards will be featured in is called "Craftwerk 2.0", in Jönköpings läns museum in Sweden. Here's a little blurb from the Jönköpings läns museum website:

"Craftwerk 2.0 is an exhibition that explores the new “updated” textile crafts that
are developed by a new generation of serious amateurs, innovative craftsmen,
engaged entrepreneurs and political practitioners... Craft and activism merges into craftivism and the politics of the future are shaped hands-on by the kitchen table. This is where micro-utopias are formed through new shared and distributed household tactics. Welcome to Craftwerk 2.0."

Here's a photo of the museum:

Any of you beardos living in Sweden? I wish I was, I'm dying to see this exhibit. It's running from Mid-September through January, so drop by if you're in the area and let me know how it all looks!

A new business card I made this morning... not what I ended up getting printed, but I thought you might like to see it anyway.

Zeus-y

Made an updated version of the Zeus beard! Wider panels, plus a huge moustache, and more room to see your winning smile. So classy! More photos on my Flickr soon, it's been pretty gloomy weather, so it's hard to get a solid photo.

Portland beardos! Check out this excellent print from one of Portland's finest, Kyle Durrie of Power and Light Press.
Some beard art I stumbled upon this morning:

You said it, Mr. Marc Johns! This guy really appreciates a good beard. I've featured him a couple times before! Check out his Flickr for more hilarity.

new pink beard

I need a haircut. If I didn't take photos of the beards all the time, I'd never notice. Does hair grow faster in the summer? I feel like I've been perpetually in need of a haircut all summer... hey beardos, got any good summer beard growth stories?

So, I finally registered the domain for my website... took me long enough. Supposedly you can now get to this blog via imadeyouabeard.com. Try it out, see if it works!

In not boring news, my beard zine should be done today, so that's neat. What are you up to this weekend?

Illustration above by "the pear picker," Bene Rohlmann.

Hey beardos! Bear with me today as I reformat the blog... it's high time I changed things around on the beard blog, but it took me until today to actually do anything about it. Feel free to leave a comment if things are looking weird/wonky on your end.
Oh, and that awesome drawing up above is by the super talented lover of beards, Michael C. Hsiung.

Still catching up... it takes longer to get your life in order when the sun is shining and you live two blocks from a park.

Here's a sneak peek of a little project I'm working on... drawing beardy folks. Shel Silverstein is my favorite so far.
