what i did this afternoon:

Had some fun painting on old photos today. I've got a few ladies I'm going to paint beards on tomorrow!

While this is certainly one of the most unruly beards I have seen (it is taking over his entire head!), it makes for a hilarious sweatshirt. Made by Species by the Thousands.

Step 6) Find man with beard to hold latte man with beard, take a photo

I've seen a lot of inexpensive copies of this design pop up over the last year, but I've gotta say, I'm still coveting the original beard hat from Vík Prjónsdóttir.

front page goodness

A couple of my beardy grandmas and grandpas made it to the front page of the Etsy website recently, so I thought I'd share the screen capture from the etsy front page flickr pool (i can't believe someone is diligent enough to update it every day!)


This one was curated by florigander, who makes lovely jewelry. The little owl drawing in the bottom right corner is adorable.

Found this photo of a lovely bearded gentleman on The Sartorialist's blog. So full of winning elements: that dark dark green coat against that creepy plum wall, haphazard glass handling, and that amazing beard... I dont know quite how to describe it.

New paintings in the shop!

Hey beard fans, long time no see. I added a few new paintings of bearded grandmas and grandpas to my shop. This one is my favorite, even though his hair is a little dark for such an old guy.

Just wanted to mention that my beard was featured as "beard of the week" over at bearduary. You can read my interview here. I love that he paired me with Rodin, one of my favorite bearded artists.

While I know very little about the sport of cricket, I want to share the BBC story on Bill Frindall, "the bearded wonder", who died this week at the age of 69. Certainly a fellow I would have liked to meet. He will be missed.
