I'd like some way to hang ornaments from that. My festive winterbeard!
(Perhaps just some critters or wintery food crumbs for non-festive days.)
A glance in the secret ecosystem that is the beard would be great too. Two gleamy eyes or a hint of some legs hidden in there. I'd make a poem to go with it: "The love for its beard from the tiny beardsquirrel."

i like it just the way it is. but the idea of having maybe charms or something. i would love to have a little birdie charm hanging somewhere. i love your beards! they are magical!
